Joe Catholic

The Joe Catholic is a Formation ministry designed by men for men.  Its purpose is to provide a comfortable environment in which men can get to learn, share and live their Catholic faith.   If  you are a cradle Catholic looking to grow or renew your faith, this is for you.  If you are interested in becoming Catholic, this is for you.  The only real qualification is to be an adult male, 18 years or older.

The atmosphere will be casual and the format straight forward.  We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm in Room 19.   The meeting consists of three short non-sequential talks: Catholic Toolbox, Saint Talk and Scripture.

Come join us as we all unite to answer God’s call to universal holiness in our ordinary lives.

ALL ADULT MEN ARE WELCOME

St. Catherine of Siena

A soul rises up, restless with tremendous desire for God's honor and the salvation of souls. St. Catherine dedicated her life to serving those in need. She served as a nurse in homes and hospitals, and looked out for the destitute. She spread her knowledge and love of God through her work and her writings. At the age of seven we are told that St. Catherine vowed her virginity to God. At eighteen, she received the Dominican habit. She then began to live in solitude and silence in her room, going out only for mass. But somewhere, somehow, in this silence she learned to read. This silence ended in 1368 in her "mystical espousal" to Christ, after which she suddenly rejoined her family at home and gave herself to the service of the poor and sick.
