Altar Servers

Altar servers are volunteers who serve at Mass on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings and afternoons. Serving is a prestigious and important position for youth, dating back to over one thousand years before Christ when young Samuel served in the temple with Eli the priest.

Volunteers should be able to focus on the Mass and have received their 1st communion. Please contact Micheal Cervantes at 972-492-3237 X 115 or [email protected] for more informormation.

St. Catherine of Siena

A soul rises up, restless with tremendous desire for God's honor and the salvation of souls. St. Catherine dedicated her life to serving those in need. She served as a nurse in homes and hospitals, and looked out for the destitute. She spread her knowledge and love of God through her work and her writings. At the age of seven we are told that St. Catherine vowed her virginity to God. At eighteen, she received the Dominican habit. She then began to live in solitude and silence in her room, going out only for mass. But somewhere, somehow, in this silence she learned to read. This silence ended in 1368 in her "mystical espousal" to Christ, after which she suddenly rejoined her family at home and gave herself to the service of the poor and sick.
