Prayer

O Lord, giver of life,
we know that all we are,
and all we have
are gifts from You.
We live in a world
that celebrates consumption.
But You call us
to be good stewards
of all You have entrusted to us.
May this #GivingTuesday prompt us
to gratitude and generosity,
that brings nourishment to the hungry
and hope to the hopeless.
We pray that #iGiveCatholic
may be a miracle of loaves and fishes,
where every gift shared lovingly
from a grateful heart
becomes bread for the multitudes,
and the ordinary becomes extraordinary.
In this giving and receiving,
may our hearts rejoice
in You alone,
who are Lord for ever and ever.
Amen

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With encouragement and support from the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, we are excited to announce that St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is participating in #iGiveCatholic on #GivingTuesday, our nation’s Catholic day of giving.

  • Advanced Giving: November 15-29, 2021
  • Giving Tuesday: November 30, 2021

Your generous support will help make a meaningful difference in our faith community’s ability to reach out to the lost and support the found while living out our baptismal promises to make us one in Christ. With your help, we will reach our $5,000 fundraising goal, the proceeds of which will be used to help sustain our parish and our ministries.

St. Catherine of Siena

A soul rises up, restless with tremendous desire for God's honor and the salvation of souls. St. Catherine dedicated her life to serving those in need. She served as a nurse in homes and hospitals, and looked out for the destitute. She spread her knowledge and love of God through her work and her writings. At the age of seven we are told that St. Catherine vowed her virginity to God. At eighteen, she received the Dominican habit. She then began to live in solitude and silence in her room, going out only for mass. But somewhere, somehow, in this silence she learned to read. This silence ended in 1368 in her "mystical espousal" to Christ, after which she suddenly rejoined her family at home and gave herself to the service of the poor and sick.
