Fr. Augustine Kolapuram is a TOR Franciscan Friar from the province of St. Thomas in India. He was born November 30, 1953 at Pala in the state of Kerala, in southern part of India. After having completed his high school studies he joined the TOR Franciscan Fraternity in the year 1973. He studied Philosophy and Theology at St. Albert’s College, Ranchi and was awarded a Master’s degree in Theology from the same college. He also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi. He was ordained a priest on December 09, 1983 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Porayahat by Bishop Urban McGarry TOR, the late Bishop of the Diocese of Bhagalpur, India.
After his ordination Fr. Augustine worked among the “Snathal“ tribes in the northern part of India. He also served the mission in various capacities such as pastor, Director of Seminarians, Principal of schools, etc. Fr. Augustine hails from a family of two boys and two girls. His father has gone to his eternal reward ten years ago. His elder brother and younger sisters are happily married and blessed with children and grandchildren. Fr. Augustine came to United States on June 11th 2012 and was appointed as the parochial vicar of St. Catherine of Siena Parish by Bishop Kevin Vann, D.D. Fr. Augustine was appointed as as our Pastor by Bishop Michael Olsen effective September 15, 2014.
