The Music Ministry - Worshiping in Song!

The Music Ministry consists of cantors, adult and children’s choir, accompanists, and instrumentalists that serve at the weekend and Holy Day liturgies.  Check the weekly bulletin for schedule information.  To volunteer contact: Micheal Cervantes at 972-492-3237 or  .

ADULT CHOIR:

It is  preferable that one knows how to read music, but not mandatory.  Attendance at rehearsal is required.

ACCOMPANISTS:

Pianists are needed to play for liturgies.  Accompanists must audition.

 INSTRUMENTALISTS:

Solo instrumentalists (wind, guitar, string, brass) add an extra special touch to music at liturgies.  Instrumentalists must audition. 

 CANTORS:

The role of the cantor is to animate the sung worship of the assembly, share in the proclaiming the Word of God, particularly the psalm, and teach the assembly its songs and acclamations.  Cantors must audition and attend rehearsals.

 CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLW):

Cantors are needed for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word for all Masses.  Cantors who sing for CLW are not required to attend choir rehearsals.

 CHILDREN’S CHOIR:

The children’s choir meets on Thursdays in room 17 in the Family Life Building from 4:30-5:00 p.m.  Any children from 1st through 5th grades are invited to join.
